Hot Blood Sundae at The Collective Fall Festival

For the first time since December of 2019, I’ll be able to attend a production of one of my plays live and in person! The Collective (Theatre Outta Bounds and the Long Island Theatre Collective) will be presenting my ten-minute sketch, Hot Blood Sundae, as part of their second annual Fall Festival in Bethpage, NY on October 16th, 2021. The piece is being performed live at 2:10 PM on the theatre stage and features performances by Gianna Zufante and Sydney Matuszak. While I didn’t dream of returning to in-person theatre in a parking lot, I’m very excited that my second live production since the shutdown will be local!

'Hot Blood Sundae' is a subtly supernatural sketch about breaking unspoken rules, embracing pleasure in all its forms, and eating the damned ice cream! I can’t wait to laugh with my friends this weekend!

My first production to be performed on stage since 2019 was my speculative One-Act play Bees, which was presented by Sanctuary Community Theatre in Chatanooga, TN. It was part of the company’s evening of Locally Grown One-Acts and featured performances by Tayla Grisham as FJ and Alethea Plott as Audrey. It was wonderful to collaborate with this growing queer organization and get a sneak peek at actors embodying my characters on stage.

Even before that, however, I made a triumphant return to the stage myself! I was lucky enough to perform the role of Laura Fraser in the turn of the century comedy The Truth by Clyde Fitch, produced by EastLine Theatre and in collaboration with Planting Fields Arboretum. I have several exciting projects and productions in the works, so I am more than likely taking a break from acting for a while. Watch this space for more details about upcoming productions and writing projects!
